The Daodejing is reputed to be the most translated book in the world, after the Bible. Yet most people think of it as purely a philosophical text, focusing on governance. What is unknown is that the Daodejing is a spiritual guide, offering a way to embody. This is expressed in the phrase:
“These are the words.
This is what they mean.
This is how to do them.”
In this lecture Alan Peatfield will discuss the oral tradition preserved in the Water Tradition of Daoism (Shui Fa Dao Jia) of Master Liu Hung Chieh. He will present the fundamental concepts, which allow you to engage the practical teachings. He will then teach some of the meditation practices which arise out of the text.
“This is how to do them!”
